Gaga Gundul 2022 tour #1 stop @ Guimet Museum Paris
The Javanese collective Gayam16 finally arrived in France! Gaga Gundul‘s dream came true!
Peemaï and Gayam16’s musicians from Indonesia, will be on tour in France all March long. They will work, improve and perform their repertoire “Gaga Gundul“: an unique fusion between Gamelan, traditional Javanese percussions orchestra, western sounds and instruments. An exceptional connection between jazz, rock, improvised music and Javanese aesthetics.
Tour’s first stop was in Paris at the Guimet Museum, from February 28 to March 4, for a creation residency. After 4 days of composing, rehearsals and settings, a visit of the museum and an educative show to kids about Gamelan, they performed for the first time all together on stage, on Saturday March 5, in the great museum’s auditorium, and it was magical!
