Peemaï

ETHNIC WORLD GROOVE

Peemaï’s inspiration comes from Asia. From Laos to Indonesia but also from urban culture of its 4 artists. A “no border” music with hypnotic rhythms and haunting melodies, mixed with joyful reinvented traditional songs. A unique and generous musical set, shared with jovial complicity and communicative energy, carried by powerful grooves and improvisations, both sensitive and virtuoso.

Peemaï was born in 2016 at the National Theater of Sète. Then, they traveled South East Asia for their first tour, beginning in Vientiane Jazz Festival in Laos. Today, with more than fifty concerts in France and abroad, Peemaï is constantly reinventing. The international artistic collaboration with the Indonesian Gayam 16 collective, about Gamelan, created the repertoire Gaga Gundul. Peemaï’s music offers a joyful musical journey, spreading smiles and happiness.
